May 26, 11 AM -12 PM: "Older Americans Month: Innovations to Build Resiliency Post COVID-19" The National Council for Behavioral Health is offering this webinar featuring the director of Geriatric Mental Health for the New York City Department for the Aging, discussing how New York responded to COVID-19 in supporting older adults with mental health support needs in New York City, as well as innovations from across the country. The webinar will touch on telehealth, intergenerational support and other strategies to stay connected during this crisis.

May 6, 1-2 PM: "Anxiety, Worry and Fear: Building Resiliency in a Time of COVID-19" Stress, anxiety and depression are common reactions after a crisis or disaster. A pandemic such as the one we are experiencing evokes an extreme of uncertainty. There are many challenges that can cause fear and discomfort: financial concerns, loss of employment, loss of freedoms, isolation, managing children at home, fear of infection and death. These worries are real and okay to experience. There are simple things you can do help take care of your mental health and well-being. By understanding the neurobiology of anxiety and fear, we will look at our resiliency tool kit to downgrade and manage COVID 19 anxiety and fear.
